AGED RESIDENT OF STRASBURG SUCCUMBS
Shelbyville, Oct. 29- Chris C. Bauer, 84, died in his home in Strasburg, last Wednesday. He had been a resident of the Strasburg community for more than 60 years.
He was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Reel-Bauer, and was born in Hocking county, Ohio on September 6, 1845. He came to Shelby county when 22 years of age and on October 13, 1868, was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Kircher, who was four sons and three daughters survive.
The children are: John F., of Crookston, Miss.; William of Altamont; E. J. of Flint, Mich.; Godfrey of near Windsor; Mrs. C. E. Ruff, of Strasburg: Mrs. Martin Tieman, of Strasburg and Mrs. F. W. Stremming of Westervelt. A daughter, Rosetta, preceded her father in death.
Mr. Bauer was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning by Rev. G. A. Schimmel. Interment was in St. Paul's cemetery.
