At an early age, she joined Second Presbyterian Church and later joined Cross Road Christian Fellowship Church. While worshipping at Cross Road Christian Fellowship Church, she served in many ministries.
She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School in 1977. Yvette was a member of the class reunion committee, and she was a school volunteer.
She leaves to remember her beautiful life and spirit two sons, Reginald (Joan) Rhodes of Cameron, N.C., and Shadquilla Rhodes of Sumter; one brother, Angelo (Ruby) Rhodes of Sumter; four sisters, Bettie Rhodes and Bobie Jenkins, both of Sumter, and Glenda Rhodes and twin sister Yvonne Rhodes, both of Open Hill, Md.; a special cousin reared as a sister, Nancy L. Session of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three stepsons of Pensacola, Fla.; one uncle, James Session; and three aunts, Georgia Session, Mary L. Walters and Susie Session.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Antonio Rhodes and Janie Jenkins.
Funeral services: Second Presbyterian Church in Sumter, with the Rev. Gloria Williams, pastor; eulogist, the Rev. Sylvester Francis.
