FOSTORIA -- Betty L. Boes, 71, of 237 Watson Ave., Fostoria, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998 at St. Catherine's Care Center, Fostoria.
She was born June 1, 1927 in Fostoria to Nicholas and Helen (Potteiger) Kauffman. She married Vincent C. Boes on Aug. 29, 1944 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Margaruite) Williams, Covington, La.; Mrs. Walter (Kathy) Haynes, Fostoria; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Kauffman, Modale, Iowa; a sister, Joanne Rhiness, Fostoria; two half sisters, Marlene Rahe and Pat Richards, both of Findlay; and a half brother, Jim Kauffman, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a sister, June Williams.
Mrs. Boes was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, the Daughters of Isabella and Eagles Lodge 430 Auxiliary, all of Fostoria. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus 1197, Fostoria.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with an Eagles memorial service at 7 p.m., followed by a Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Wendelin Catholic Church or to Community Hospice of Seneca County.
