Mrs. Lillie (Dolly) Lewis died Friday at 9 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melvin Meyer, 606 Frederick street, after an illness of the past three weeks. She formerly lived on the Lewis road near this city.
She was born Feb. 11, 1883, at Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Richard and Sophrina [Turner] Dove. She was married to John Lewis on July 2, 1902. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1943.
She is survived by two sons, John Lewis of Scotsdale, Ariz., Harry Lewis of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Wilkinson of Alton, Mrs. Nellie (Mullane) Sidwell, Mrs. Melvin (Lela) Meyer of this city; and 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Christian church.
Friends may call at the Weber funeral home after 7 o'clock Saturday evening.
Pallbearers were John Gatton of Alton, Earl Orman, Roy Bell, Louis Klaustermeier, John Clark and William Fitzpatrick.
