Services were held Monday, at the First Baptist Church in Tifton for Joel Jefferson Brewer 78, Retired Railroad employee and farmer, who died at his home after an illness of several weeks.
The Revs. C.R.Simpson, Dr. John McGinnis,. D.R.McGhee, and O Walker officiated.
Burial was in the Tifton Cemetary. Pallbearers and Honorary PallBearers were the grandsons and grandsons-in-laws. Mr. Brewer, born in Schley County, was the son of John Wesley Brewer and Mollie Hill Brewer. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Schley County, and was a member of the Masonic Order. He married Anna Beulah Lawson and they observed their 58th wedding anniversary last Nov. Coming to Tifton in 1937, Mr. Brewer was an employee of the Armour Meat Packing Co. for some time. Surviving are his wife, Anna B. Brewer, Tifton; Five sons, John W. and James H. Brewer, Waycross;
