MUNCIE--Clara Hadley, 96, Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Muncie, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Lakeland, Fla.
She was born in Gentry's Mill, Ky., July 14, 1904, to Thomas Milton Brockman and Zella Whitehead Brockman. Clara was one of seven children, all now deceased. She was married to Claude E. Hadley in 1922, and had two sons, Edrol J. Hadley, (wife: Mary), both now deceased, and Earl R. Hadley (wife: Bobbie), of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Muncie. Clara lived in Muncie much of her adult life and worked as a cosmetologist. She retired in 1976. In 1994, she moved to Lakeland, Fla., with her son, Earl Hadley, and his wife, Bobbie.
Clara is also survived by two nieces; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Meeks Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ron Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday or one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
