VERGENNES, VT. - Walter Joseph Young Jr., age 89, of Vergennes, passed away peacefully on May 7th 2022.

He was born on October 6th 1932 in Vergennes, Vt., he was the son of Walter Joseph and Catherine Olive (Rivers) Young Sr. of Vergennes, Vt., one of four children.

He worked for 33 years as an Accountant at Simmonds Precision in Vergennes, Vt.

Walter was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his father in the woods. He enjoyed investing and was very generous with his gains.

He was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church in Vergennes, Vt., holding fast to his faith until the very end of his life.

All who knew Walter will remember him as an animated storyteller. He loved to talk about his youth. His mother ran the telephone company from their home while father served as the postmaster in Vergennes.

He was predeceased by his father, mother, and two sisters; Olive and Mary.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home on 48 South Maple Street in Vergennes, Vt.

Interment will be at the St. Peters Cemetery in Vergennes, Vt.
