Cora Elizabeth Blum, age 69, of Jemison, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Horace Johnson and his wife Catherine, her son, Jimmy Maharrey, a brother, Willie Johnson, and a granddaughter, Nicole Mixon.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton D. Blum, two daughters, Linda (David) Esco, Mary Glasscock, and one son Dennis (Lynn) Maharrey, and a daughter in law Bonnie Maharrey. She also is survived by six sisters and one brother as well as her grandchildren; Charlotte (Don) Millican, David (Jama) Esco, II, Shayla Holland, Cameron Maharrey, Brittney Nalley Beth Glasscock, Jacey (Garrett) Able, Courtney Maharrey and five great grandchildren; Cora Millican, Aidon Esco, Ashton Able, Jimmy Nalley, and Rhys Millican. She also leaves three honorary grandchildren; Amanda and Sara Long and Lea Varner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 in the chapel of Walker Chapel funeral home with burial to follow in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens. The Blum family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
