Edward H. Meeks, 50, of 202 Riverside Drive, St. Marys, who died Tuesday morning, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph's Hospital were held Friday at the Nazarene Church in St. Marys, with the Rev. Ralph Dennis officiating. Burial was in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. He was born at Shultz, Pleasants County, son of the late Walter H.. and Elizabeth Hill Meeks. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Pleasants County American Legion Post No. 79. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Shaw Meeks; six daughters, Mrs. Carol Jean Guinn and Mrs. Dottie Mae Grimes, of Parkersburg, Mrs. Kathy Parsons of Ravenswood, Linda Sue Meeks, Pamela Kay Meeks and Penny Sue Meeks, all of St. Marys; seven sons, Gary Lee Meeks, Edwin A. Meeks, Edward H. Meeks, Jr., Walter S. Meeks, Teddy T. Downing and Carl E. Downing, all of St. Marys, and Ronald Meeks of Lexington, N. C., one sister, Mrs. Charles Gorrell of St. Marys; three brothers, Lee L. Meeks of St. Marys, Law­rence H. Meeks of Newport, O., and Robert M. Meeks of Globe, Ariz., and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline L. Meeks, one brother, one sister and one daughter.
