Clara Dees Bazen CoxPAMPLICO -- Clara Dees Bazen Cox, 99, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 23, 2015, at the McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.Mrs. Cox was born on October 8, 1915 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late Bradley and Ellie Jones Dees. She was a member of Beulah Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Cox was a 1948 graduate of Saunders Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She was formerly employed by Saunders Memorial Hospital, Florence, SC, Johnson Memorial Hospital, Hemingway, SC and Commander Nursing Center, Florence, SC. Mrs. Cox was also a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. Surviving include a son, John B. "Buddy" (Sandra) Bazen of Pamplico; a daughter, Pansy (Speedy) Bazen of Pamplico; grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Little of Pamplico, Jason (Amber) Bazen of Florence and Shannon Bazen of Evergreen; great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Emma Little, Clay and Austyn Bazen, Lexi, Makaeley, Makenzey Bazen and Jake Bazen; a sister, Mary Alice Beverly of Springdale, MD; brother, Colon Dees of Laurel Hill, NC; 3 special nieces, Pat Grainger of Aynor, Nancy Powers of Florence and Katie Ruth Holloway of Laurel Hill, NC; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Myrtle Baggett of Pamplico. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her first husband, John Bryant Bazen, Sr.; second husband, John Cox; grandson, Stacey (Tammie of Myrtle Beach) Bazen; brothers, Roy Dees, Curry Dees and Tom Dees; sisters, Margaret D. Stanton and Aileen D. Smith.Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Beulah Free Will Baptist Church, 235 West Bazen Road, Pamplico, SC. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 P.
