Cherry Mound, Texas – Lena Sue Trimble Allen went to be with her Lord after a short, but courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, September 19, 2013. She was greatly loved by her large, extended family and many friends.

Sue was born on February 27, 1944 in Tulare, CA. to parents, James W. Trimble and Maxine Childers Trimble, the third child of eight. She accepted Christ into her life in 1952 in Shamrock, TX and was baptized with her brother and their 70-year-old grandfather.

Her parents; two newborn granddaughters, Lia Sue Eller and Hannah Lee Thomas; and a newborn sister preceded Sue in death.

She is survived by her three sons, Stephen Smitherman of Kennedale, TX, Wayne Eller and wife Jackie of Bells, TX, James Eller and wife Sherry of Fort Worth, TX.; her daughter, Tammy Thomas and husband Ricky of Bells, TX; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, C.J. Trimble, James Trimble and Joe Trimble and three sisters, Ruth Bearden, Julia Trimble and Kathy Wise; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, two aunts and one uncle.

Sue loved her grandchildren and couldn't spend enough time with them. She loved to cook, cross-stitch and read. She was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2773 of Denison. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, and peach cobbler will never be the same.

Funeral services for Sue are set for Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Cherry Mound Baptist Church east of Denison. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, with Reverend Wes Wiley officiating. The family will greet friends at the Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells Friday.

Those serving as Pallbearers for Sue are her three grandsons, Jonathan Smitherman, Justin Smitherman and Robert Eller; four nephews, David Zinck, James E. Trimble, Dwayne Fish and Brian Smith; one great nephew, Nick Taylor and Honorary Pallbearer, grandson Tanner Thomas.
