Austrian film director, producer and writer. More than half of Oswald's 110-plus films were made during the silent. His sound film credits include the 1933 German version of Flower of Hawaii.
Oswald fled Germany and Europe during the rise of the Nazi and Fascist parties, coming, after a brief stay in Paris, to the United States, where he directed his last three films in Hollywood before returning to Europe, where he died.
