Max Edward Allen

Max Edward Allen, 80, of Koleen, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 26, 1932 in Linton, he was the son of Roy and Eva (King) Allen.
He was a self employed excavator and owned a trucking company with a contract with Holland Dairy. He retired from NSWC Crane and served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post #196.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Sheila Corn (Todd) of Bloomfield, Mark Allen of Koleen and Lisa Allen of Bloomington; grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Nathan Corn, Derek Corn, Allison Scherschel and Adalie Scherschel; two great grandchildren, Adilyn and Jaxyn Martin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Maxine Allen in 2004, one sister, Kay Owens and his parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Howell Cemetery in Koleen.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Howell cemetery in care of the funeral home.
