Marriage: To J. D. (Joseph D.) on Oct. 17, 1876 at Avoca, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.

Children: Winnie B. Gump, Vinnie M. Gump, and Roy Gump Sweny.

Obituary: Mrs. Joe. Gump, of Persia, died Monday morning, of typho-malarial fever after an illness of 8 or 10 days duration. The body was brought here Tuesday morning, and funeral services held at the Presbyterian church. The deceased had always expressed a fear of being buried alive and requested that every precaution should be taken before interment. Consequently Doctors Hanna, Darnell and Williams verified and made an examination of the corpse at the church. (The Walnut News, Dec. 1, 1882)
