W. E. Hoover Funeral To Be Held Tomorrow. Services for William Edward Hoover, 715 Fourth street southeast, who died yesterday morning, will be held at his former residence tomorrow after noon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Hoover resided in the District of Columbia since his birth, March 9, 1855. He was the son of William Hoover and Anna Elizabeth Hoover, nee Huff. On May 13, 1881, he entered the railway service, and first worked on the run between New York City and Washington. On June 25, 1882, he was appointed assistant chief clerk and in March, 1884, chief clerk of the line with headquarters in New York. He was transferred to Washington in the same capacity on November 1, 1912, and on September 1, 1918, became chief clerk at large. He retired from service April 12, 1921. He was a member of B.B. French Lodge, A.F. and A.M., which will have charge of the funeral. Washington Herald, Washington, DC, Monday, November 12, 1923, page 6.
