She was the daughter of Captain Green Pryor and the wife of James Henry Alexander, who in the perverse world of genealogy was the brother of her father's second wife Jane Maria Alexander. Martha bore 13 children, of whom six did not survive childhood. Her gravesite is lost at present, although there is precedent for her being laid to rest in the Pryor Family cemetery in Chulahoma.
