RUTH IRENE BLACKBURN MAYNARD, 82 years of age of the Upper Mill Branch section of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Andy Jackson and Nolexea Meadows Blackburn. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was a member of the Dry Fork Primitive Baptist Church where she was secretary and treasurer for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and former grocery store clerk for Henson's Grocery at Slate Creek.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell Maynard; her daughter: Connie Sue Barnett, March 16, 2013; 2-Sisters: an infant and Madeline Crandell; 5-Brothers: an infant, Gerald, Ernest, Charles and Edgar Blackburn.
She is survived by 2-Sons: Larry Phillip Maynard, Lubbock, TX, Rev.
