Frank Gene Bell, 81, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, KS.

He was born on January 3, 1932 in Medicine Lodge, KS, the son of Charles E. Bell and Margaret M. (Watson) Bell. On August 25, 1957 he married Marilyn Marie Bloesser in Kingman, KS. She survives.

Gene was a member of Community Bible Fellowship in Medicine Lodge, KS. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War he attended Kansas State University and was a member of the livestock judging team graduating in 1957. Returning to Barber County to farm and ranch, he was a member of the Barber County Cattlemen's Association and served for over fifty years on the Eagle Township Board. Gene also served on the Union Chapel Church Board, Barber County Extension Board and was active in the 4-H program.

Surviving are his wife Marilyn (Bloesser) Bell; four daughters, Karen (Rod) Cunningham of Medicine Lodge, KS, Pam (Kim) Krehbiel of Pratt, KS, Linda Bell of Topeka, KS, and Charlotte (Jeff) Hoagland of Medicine Lodge, KS; 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Karen) Cunningham, Julie (Ryan) McCoy, Christi (Brian) Bullock, Landon (Andrea) Cunningham, Melissa (Ty) Rebel, David (Lauren) Krehbiel, Bryce Krehbiel, Charli (DeAljanon) Chillers, Cassi Woodward, Ashli (Kelly) Snow, and Duston Hoagland; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Frank) Black of Littleton, CO;
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Charlene Miller, and a brother, James Dene Bell.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Community Bible Fellowship from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.,with family being present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Community Bible Fellowship with Pastor Dwain Richert officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
