William H. "Bill" Atkins, 90, Morton, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2013) at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Morton.

He was born June 22, 1923 in Delavan, son of Eurvon and Anna Roudenbush Atkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Kurtis Lee Patridge and three brothers, Walt, Bob and Allan. He married Zelda Cook on Dec. 31, 1947 in Mackinaw. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Elaine (Ralph) Duncan, Nancy (Jeff) Steiner and Glenn (Kelly) Atkins; five grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Patridge, Jennifer Steiner, Rachel (Daniel) Cushman, Matthew Duncan and Brittany Atkins; three great-grandchildren, Izabella, Elizabeth and Annaleigh Patridge; two sisters, Elizabeth Biegler and Janis (Dick) Riddl and many nieces and nephews.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He moved to Morton in 1945, working at Heiniger's Standard Service Station and as a police officer; he also was the superintendent of streets in Morton for 30 years.
