He received his education at Fessenden Academy in Martin, Florida and received his high school diploma from Howard Academy in Ocala, FL.
His employment included the Department of Public Works for the City of Ocala for 25 years. Brother Spencer joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 an was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i.
On April 10, 1943, Brother Clifford Spencer married Marcella Mitchell and this union produced eight children. He leaves to mourn his presence: A Loving and Devoted wife of 70 years and five months, Marcella Spencer, six daughters, Peggy Jackson, Tampa, FL, Gloria White (Joseph) Orlando, FL, Edna Reedy (James) St. Petersburg, FL, Elvenia Collins (James) Ocala, FL, Harietta Finle Casselberry, FL, Icella Spencer, St. Petersburg, FL, son-in-law, Lester Vance (Gloria) Ocala FL, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren as well a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
