A member of the Flora Methodist Church and a 50-year member IOOF Lodge, he had retired several years ago after operating a grocery at Buck Creek for 28 years.
Born Oct. 25, 1869, in Buck Creek, he was the son of George and Carolyn Parret Anderson. His first marriage was to Jennie May, who died in 1920. In 1921 he married to Orabelle Donahue, who died in 1948 and in 1949 he was married to Elsie Martin, who died in 1957. Surviving are three nephews, Clarence Anderson of Lafayette, Russell Slater of Chillicothe, Mo., and William Slater of Ludlow, Mo.; and two nieces, Mrs. Pearl Lyon of Lafayette and Mrs. Nellie Walker of Delphi.
