Virginia Negley Simon, 96, Indianapolis, passed away September 15, 2013. She graduated from Butler University with Bachelor's and Master's of Science degrees. She was a Teacher at Orchard School and a Curriculum Coordinator in Washington Township schools. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, PEO Sisterhood Chapter BC, Butler Alumnae Literary Club, Catherine Merrill Club, Purdue Presidents' Council, and Second Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband's Harold H. Hollingsworth and Ralph T. Simon and by her son David N. Hollingsworth and step-daughter Lois (Benjamin) Hitz. Mrs. Simon is survived by a step-daughter, Sally (Gerald) Gaskins, Indianapolis, two grandchildren Peter Hollingsworth, Indianapolis, and Kathryn (Benjamin) Copeland, Carmel, six step-grandchildren Diane (Nathan) Marret, Waukesha, WI, Beth (Mike) Goottee, Indianapolis, Greta (Scott) Pang, Woodland Hills, CA, Delia Hitz, Sierre Madre, CA, Sam (Katrina) Hitz, Sierre Madrea, CA, and Ralph (Krista) Hitz, Tacoma, WA, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Learning Centers for Children, Inc. c/o Scottish Rite Cathedral, 650 N. Meridian, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11 am with visitation starting at 10 am at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St. Internment: Crown Hill Cemetery.
