Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hillside Christian Church Amarillo South Campus with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Matt was born Oct. 19, 1977, in Waco to Myron and Gail Harden. They moved to Amarillo in 1979, where he lived most of his life. He attended Sleepy Hollow Elementary School as well as Crockett Middle School. He was a member of the 1996 graduating class of Amarillo High School. In high school, he played soccer and baseball, where he earned the nickname Goose for his pitching ability. He met the love of his life, Kristin Mahan, in 1999.

Matt was a master carpenter for many years. He worked for QBC Millworks until the time of his death. He could do anything with his hands and was always known for helping others. He constructed beautiful wooden hot air balloons to go in the children's units at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for Children's Miracle Network.

Matt lived by his father's philosophy, "Any job, big or small, do it right or not at all."

Matt was a passionate runner and participated in many marathons. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, cook, and was a Pittsburg Steelers fan through and through. He was an excellent cook and loved cooking for his family and friends. He was the life of the party everywhere he went. Most of all, Matt was a loving husband and dad. He considered his greatest accomplishment in life was being a husband and daddy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Myron Harden, in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Kristin of Amarillo; three sons, Maxim Alexander Harden, Aiden Gray Harden and Wyatt Cash Harden, all of Amarillo; his mother, Gail Harden of Amarillo; his sister, Charrisa "Rossi" Harden and husband Kerry Ashford of Canyon, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bev and Johnny Cobb and "Grammie" Vera Cobb, all of Amarillo; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much.

The family suggests memorials be to Benefit of Matthew Harden fund in care of Amarillo National Bank.
