She was born April 17, 1923 in Stanley, Wis., to the Rev. Ralph G. and Vinna C.
(Harshbarger) Rarick.
On July 21, 1941 in Hargarstown, Md., she married Darrel E. Byrket. He preceded
her in death April 4, 2004 in Elkhart.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael D. (Janet) Byrket of Elkhart and
Patrick S. Byrket of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Kevin Byrket and Kindra
Byrket, both of Elkhart; and a great-grandchild, Kaliegh.
Elvera worked as a secretary at Selmer for 10 years and in an anesthesiologist's
office for 20 years. She also volunteered with the Salvation Army and was an
organist for the Bristol Opera House and the First Brethren Church. Elvera was
an artist and enjoyed spending time with her family the most.
Visitation for Elvera is set for today from 2 to 4 p.m. and one hour prior to
the funeral service Monday at 4 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home,
Elkhart. The Rev. Jeff Estep of First Brethren Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church or Elkhart
Hospice House.
Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
