Henry Joy McDaniel, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. McDaniel was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Hayden, N.M., to Lee and Pauline McDaniel. He married Jimie Lewis on Nov. 4, 1951, in Amarillo.

Mr. McDaniel was an Army veteran and worked for Graybar Electric for 42 years. He attended First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jimie McDaniel; two sons, Larry McDaniel of Richardson and Chris McDaniel and wife Kelly of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Brenda Messer and husband Rick of Leavenworth, Kan., and Carol Forbes and husband David of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Rosalie Hale of Midland; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to Faith City Mission, 401 S.E. Second Ave, Amarillo, TX 79101.
