Joseph Alan Pack, 39, of Wyomissing, died September 16, 2013.

He was the husband of Lily Marie (Orama) Pack. They were married June 20, 1992.

Born in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of Michael Earl Pack, Demoines, IA and Katherine Elaine (Belz) Colamarino, Shillington.

He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1992 and attended RACC and Valley Forge Christian College.

He was a US Army Veteran of Desert Storm

Joe was a police officer for the Reading Police Department for 13 years last working Friday.

He was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship, Mohrsville.

Joe was a very kind and loyal friend. He loved unconditionally, and was able to make anyone laugh. He played with his sons as often as he could and had a natural ability to connect with children on their level. Joe was a life-long Steelers fan. A published poet, he had a very creative mind.

He loved being a police officer in the city of Reading, and posted high arrest and conviction levels.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his three sons, Isaiah Alan, Gabrial Erin and Zachary Ayden, all at home. There is one brother, Michael E., Jr., husband of Danielle Pack, Exeter Twp., and two half siblings, Sara Pack and Justin Pack in Iowa. His maternal grandfather, Raymond F. Belz and paternal grandfather, Earl Pack, Sr. also survive him.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to: Police Athletic League, 325 Walnut Street, Reading, PA 19601.
