LaVerne Wallace, 93, passed away September 18, 2013, in Hillsboro. She was born August 2, 1920 in the Bethel Community of Hill County to Bud and Annar Myers Williams.
On January 18, 1941, she married Jessie Odell Wallace and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1981.
LaVerne was a homemaker and an immaculate housekeeper. She was extremely proud of her three sons and loved taking care of her grand children and great-grand children. The only one of all the sisters who learned to drive a car, she was always taking them where they needed to go. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Whitney.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter-in-law, Kathy Wallace; five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Wallace, Gary Wallace and Rick Wallace; 5 grand children; 3 great-grand children; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held September 20, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.
