SIMMONS, Melanie Jean, age 58 of Hillsboro, Tennessee, passed away on September 3, 2012 with her loving family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her father, the late Walter Simmons.
Melanie will be fondly remembered as one who loved her family and friends, and one who loved to paint, draw, quilt, write poetry, sing in the choir and participate in the Special Olympics. Melanie was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her
mother, Aleta Maie Carter Simmons of Hillsboro, TN;
sisters, Dianne (Ross) Reed of Hillsboro, TN, Sharon Greenfield of Murfreesboro and Cathey Pressley of Hillsboro;
nephews, Stephen Reed, Jason (Tracey) Reed, Josh Greenfield, Dustin (Jessica) Presley;
nieces, Amber Greenfield, Cindy (Jason) Ford and Mandy (Shane) Strunk; and
a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Rushing officiating.
Burial wil follow at the Simmons Cemetery in Hillsboro.
