Suzanne was born in Stewart, MS, on January 8, 1941, to H.V. & Lois Williams Bright. She grew up in Jackson & graduated in 1959 from Provine High School. After high school, she attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, where she was a Hinds Hi-Stepper.
Suzanne earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from MS College and enjoyed a 33-year teaching career, including positions at MS Baptist Academy, Magnolia Council School, Lovett Elementary & Northside Elementary in Clinton. She enjoyed gardening, flowers of all types, and jewelry-making. She was a longtime member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, where she was a member of the Holmes Sunday School class & enjoyed singing in the choir. Suzanne also was a member of CARE (Clinton Association of Retired Educators), and Still Friends, a group made up of fellow retired teachers.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of 49 years, James A. Glenn, Sr. of Clinton, and her pride & joy, son Jimmy (Meg) Glenn, Jr. of Clinton, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Visitation will be 5pm-8pm Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Her funeral service will be Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 11am at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, with visitation available beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery.
