Gary J. Lynch, "Giga", age 50, of Plymouth, formerly of Scituate, died on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Born in South Weymouth, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Olive (Patterson) Lynch. He was raised in Scituate and moved to Plymouth 14 years ago. For many years, Giga was a professional carpenter. He was an avid golfer and collector of sports memorabilia. Giga was a member of the American Legion Post 40 and was a Corporal of the Post 40 Color Guard. He volunteered for the American Legion, Relay For Life and many other charitable organizations. Giga was a five-year survivor of both hodgkins and non-hodgkins lymphoma. His favorite motto was, "Live, Life, Love". Giga was a most loving and caring husband, father and friend. He was very giving, generous and kind-hearted. He enjoyed spending lots of time with family and friends, always with a smile. He loved people and people loved him! Giga was the beloved husband of Beth (Hayes) Lynch; loving father of Kaitlyn Hayes of Plymouth, Rachael Lynch of Plymouth and Kathleen Lynch of Plymouth; devoted brother of Patrick Lynch and his wife Tuk of Bourne, Mary O'Neil and her husband James of Plymouth, Gilbert Lynch and his wife Jennifer of Alexandria, VA, Maureen Ortiz of New Bedford and the late Francis Lynch Jr., Peter Lynch and Kevin Lynch; dear son-in-law of Kathleen Hayes of Plymouth; dear brother-in-law of John Hayes III of Plymouth, Joshua Hayes of Pittsfield, MA and Jeanene Hayes of Riverside, R.I. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Rte. 106), Kingston, on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, from 4 - 8 p.m. His funeral Mass will be held at Saint Peter's Church, 86 Court Street, Plymouth, on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Plymouth County Cemetery (Corp), South Meadow Road, South Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society , 5 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
