Shirley Janice Gilbert, 75, of Crossett died Friday, July 9, 1999, at her home. Born September 21, 1923, in Gainesville, TX, to Lucian Tate and Anna Mae Tate Newell, she was a retired employee of Georgia-Pacific and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gilbert. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth N. Gilbert of Germantown, TN, and Timothy L. Gilbert of Las Vegas, NV; and four grandchildren, Lauren E. Gilbert and Lana A. Gilbert of Germantown, TN, and Kris T. Gilbert and Kendra L. Gilbert of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, in the Crossett Church of Christ with John Overcash officiating. Pallbearers were Billy Gammel, Tom Akin, Dean Ashcraft, Andy Shaw, Lyle Gilbert and Jim Green. Burial followed services att the Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett
