Pioneer Dies in Brooklyn Following Attack of Pneumonia
Mrs. Sarah Ann Levie died February 10 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leroy Bridges of Elsinore. She had been ill with pneumonia three weeks.
Mrs. Levie was born May 16, 1856, in an English colony, Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. In 1860 she came with her parents across the ocean, the voyage lasting 72 days, and arriving in Utah, settled in Deseret. She was married to Joseph Hyrum Levie, March 17, 1872, at Kanosh where they resided until 1877 when they moved to Sevier, which has since been the family home.
Surviving are the following children; Mrs. Leroy Bridges and Mrs. Lucian Barney of Elsinore, Mrs. Samuel Mackey, Mrs. Jas. P. Gilbert, Joseph H. Levie and Richard W. Levie of Sevier, and
Mrs. Benjamin Utley of Fillmore. 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren survive also. Mrs. Levies husband has been dead 29 years.
Funeral services were held in the Sevier ward Thursday, Bishop Steve Baker presiding. Interment was in the Joseph cemetery.
