Larkin Turner was born in Virginia or North Carolina who married Eleanor Leah Driscoll in 1798 in Hancock County, Georgia where he witnesses deeds. Then he moved to Baldwin/Jasper County by 1810 and Butts County by 1826. He was a peioneer settler of Carroll County, GA in 1829 where he lived for many years. He died in Meriwether County, GA where he and Leah are buried. He was a "fortunate drawer" in the Georgia Land Lotteries of 1805 and 1832. He is the focus of an article in the Meriether Vindicator on the occasion of the First Centennial of the United States in 1876.
