Aged 76 yrs 7 months 5 days
Obituary - Chenango Semi Weekly Telegraph - May 13, 1891
Mrs. Alfred Allen died at her home on Sunday morning. On Thursday, May 7th, she was stricken with a stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied. Her husband crossed the chilling tide in 1886 and joined loved ones. She was born in Plymouth, October 4th, 1814. Sixty years ago she experienced religion and has ever since been an active member of the M. E. Church, until failing health prevented her attendance. She was married June 8d, 1833 by Harris Coats, Esq., in Pharsalia. She moved upon the farm where she died April 8th, 1850. Thus another good woman has passed to the silent majority. A friend to the poor and needy. Her whole life has been spent among us and it speaks more for her than any words of mine. Rev. George W. Reed conducted the funeral services. The interment took place at South Otselic Tuesday.
