Walter E. McIntosh, 73, of Blair died on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 4, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.
Walter Eugene McIntosh was born April 26, 1939, to Floyd and Pearl (Clyde) McIntosh in Page.
He attended first grade at Oakdale and country school during the second through the eighth grades in the Page area. He attended ninth and tenth grade at Page High School then spent his junior and senior years at Tekamah High School.
On November 1, 1958, he married Shirley Crom in Onawa, Iowa.
He worked for Kelly Ryan Equipment for 12 years and Nebraska Engineering Company (NECO) in Omaha for 26 years. He also worked for Blair Motors and Fort Calhoun Stone. He retired from Cargill after working there for 8 years.
He also was a foster parent with his wife for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Blair; sons and daughter-in-law, daughter and son-in-law, adopted son, adopted daughter, nine grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence; brother, Richard; brother-in-laws Gordon Palmer, Bob Pelley, Melvin Wiese and Howard Crom; and daughter-in-laws, Roxann and Nancy McIntosh.
