Hugh Kender Foster, 78, of Harriman, passed away Monday Feb. 18, 2013, in Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center.He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 20 years of service to his country. He also retired from Morgan County Regional Prison and was the owner/operator of Save the Earth Air Conditioning Service for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Edna Foster; and one brother, Ray Foster.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vi Foster; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rory and Kelly Foster, Kingston, Bryan and Lana Foster, and Kevin and Beverly Foster, all of Harriman; two granddaughters, Megan Foster, Knoxville, and Jessica Ruppe and husband T.J., Oakdale; one grandson, Clint Foster, Knoxville; one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Ruppe; three stepgrandchildren, Mikaela, Blake and Clay Redmon, all of Harriman; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Velma Foster, Fort Bille, Ind., Tom and Carlene Foster, Mooresville, Ind., and Ed Foster, Sarasota, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Doug Turpin, Dayton, Ohio; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vera and Paul Scarbrough, Oakdale; several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday Feb. 21, in Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Kelley and Bro. Vic Davis officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Roane Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
