Martha Dobbs, age 84, departed this life to be with the Lord on Feb. 28, 2008, after an extended illness. She is at rest.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 10-11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel, with Ed White officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years and the love of her life, Sidney Dobbs; loving sons, Roy Coburn (Betty), Ray Coburn (Melody), Sidney Dale Dobbs (Stephanie) and David Dobbs; four grandchildren, Amy Johnson (Matt), Byron Coburn, Ashley Keenum (Daniel) and Courtney Coburn; three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Allie and Caden; and sister, Tommie Lou Pace.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora McCullough Smith, father, Thomas Smith, and several brothers and sisters.
She was born in Russellville and made her home in Tuscumbia, where she was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ. She spent her life as a loving wife and mother.
Pallbearers are Matt Johnson, Daniel Keenum, John Townsend, Homer Black, Les Wilson and Kenny Von Boeckman.
Honorary pallbearers are Byron Coburn, William Turman, Jack Frost and Arnold Rickman.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Valdosta Church of Christ for all the cards and prayers through the years, Hospice of the Shoals, and Hospice of North Alabama, Dr. Brad McAnally, Jeanie, Kelly and Joyce, for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
