Rosa peacefully passed away with her son and her daughter by her side. She was a faithful follower of God, a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a caring Maw Maw to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. Rosa leaves a legacy of family love and devotion, and fellowship with her loved ones.

Rosa was born to Alford Patterson and Alma Hartman Patterson on September 3, 1933. She grew up in the Buckcreek area, and as a teen, she worked as a nursing assistant at St. Joseph's Hospital, now Collingsworth General Hospital. She married her high school sweetheart, P. J. White on December 23, 1950.

P. J. and Rosa lived in Wellington where P. J. began his career in farming. Rosa worked alongside P.J. caring for the home while raising their four children. She was as handy on the farm as she was at home. Rosa and P. J. were married for 62 years before P.J.'s passing in 2012.

Rosa enjoyed oil painting, which she attended every Tuesday with a group of friends. Rosa was a collector of beautiful glassware. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and avid game player. Rosa loved a good card game, and her favorite saying was, "A card laid is a card played."

Rosa was family-centered and reveled in the time she spent enjoying her grandchildren. Her family remembers her constant presence at all social events. She attended extra sporting events, showers, and weddings. If you stopped by the homeplace, she always had a meal ready at a moment's notice.

Rosa White was a devout Christian. She was a faithful member of the Bowie Street Church of Christ where she began attending in the early 1950s. She taught Bible Classes, led children's activities, helped with funeral dinners and church luncheons, and shared her faith by example.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Alford and Alma Patterson. She also was preceded in death by her husband P. J. White, her two brothers, Earl Patterson and Virgil Patterson; a brother in law, Jim Chanslor, a daughter, Janice White Merrell; her son, Rod White; her granddaughter, Shannon White Brown.
