Abram Booth Seelye came to New Orleans from St, George, Charlotte, New Brunswick. His first wife was Maria Chapman Eaton, his first cousin. They were married on 3 Nov 1859 in St. George. She died the following year on 27 May 1860 in New Orleans. Abram next married Isadora Dowty in Wilkinson County, Mississippi.

Obituary: On Saturday afternoon, March 2, 1878 at 4:40 o'clock, ISADORA L. DOWTY, aged 39 years, daughter of the late Wm. Dowty, of Wilkinson County, Miss., and wife of A.B. Seelye of this city.
The funeral services will take place This Afternoon, at 4 o'clock, from No 95 First Street, Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend.
