Kirkland, Gary, age 60, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, April 25, 2011 after his courageous and brave fight with brain cancer. Gary is preceded in death by his father Clifford E. Kirkland. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Carla, his mother, Aline (Hale), 3 children, son, Edwin (and wife, Danielle), of Beavercreek, and two daughters, Michelle Ann (Combs), of Vandalia and Angela Marie (Collinsworth), of Beavercreek. He was grandfather to his 6 "houndogs," Taylor (17), Jon Paul (16), Jordan (13), Meghan (11), Logan (8) and Garrett (5). He is also survived by 3 brothers, George (Butch) (wife, Sheryl), Roger (wife, Marilyn) and Brooks (wife, Dixie), 5 aunts Pearl Hargrove, Fran Kirkland, Ada Kirkland, Martha Kirkland and Ornita Hale and 3 Uncles, Sonny Hale (wife, Carol), James Hale (wife, Betty) and Buddy Hale (wife, Katy) along with serveral close cousins in Tennesee.
Gary was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Beavercreek. He was a 1969 graduate of Beavercreek High School and graduated in 1981 from Hobart Welding School of Troy, Ohio, as a Journeyman Welder. Gary was full of life and dearly loved his family. He was a wonderful Husband, father, son,brother and grandpa. He cherished his children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with his wife to wonderful places for many years.
Gary's family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 5-8p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Funeral Services are at 11a.m. on Friday morning at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Favor officiating. Gary will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek, Ohio.
