Jens Pederson was born on the 6th of February 1842 in Viskinge, Skippinge, Holbæk, Denmark, the son of Peder Erichsen and Ann Maria Handatter.

In 1872, when he was about 30 years of age he came to America and three years later, on the 20th of March 1875, in Goodhue County, Minnesota, he married Sophia Christenson (b. Jun 1845 in Denmark) who had come to America the prior year (in 1874).

In 1875 or 1876, Jens and Sophia were living in Trenton, Pierce County, Wisconsin, where each of them would live the remainder of their lives.

Jens and Sophia had five children: Jens, born in 1876; Christian, born in August of 1879; Peter, born in 1880; Erik, born in December of 1883; and Inga Marie, born in April of 1886.

Jens died in Trenton on Christmas Day, December 25, 1912 and his wife would live another twelve (almost thirteen years) in Trenton until her death on August 6th, 1925.

Both Jens and Sophia are buried in the Trenton Cemetery, Jens having been buried on December 28, 1912 and Sophia on August 9, 1925.

Two sons, Jens (b. 1876) and Peter (b. 1880), are buried in Idaho. See Find A Grave Memorial # 105806232.
