Holly Springs- Ryan Wayne Chastain, 34, of Holly Springs died Thursday, September 12, 2013. He was the son of Debbie and Frank Jackson of Hendersonville and Jack Chastain of Hendersonville and Fort Myers, Florida.

Ryan was a third generation graduate of Hendersonville High School, graduating in 1998, where he led the Bearcat baseball team through four years of winning seasons. He was an avid sport enthusiast and continued to play intra-colligant sports in Fort Myers, Florida while he worked in real estate He continued his education at Florida Gulf Coast University graduating in 2010 with a BA degree in Secondary Education. In January 2011, he joined the staff of the Sylvan Learning Center in Garner where he was their Center Director. He was also an active member of Calvary Chapel in Cary.

In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their son Jack Russell "McGuire" of Holly Springs. His four sisters: Keela C Walters and her husband Tim of Fuquay-Varina, Tamra C. Fore and her husband Gary of Leicester, Kari Chastain of Fort Myers, FL and Kerri J. Pelz and her husband, Mike of Hendersonville. Three brothers: Jack Chastain, Jr. of Naples, Fl., Lyndon Chastain of Fort Myers, Fl. and Jonathan Jackson of Hendersonville. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Mabel Brooks of Hendersonville as well as many aunts and uncles. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews: Cohen and Ehlan Walters, Noah, Hannah and Sophia Roseman, Bryce and Jordan Fore, and Cole, Jaxon and Haley Chastain , Kiai, Auden and Jackson Pelz, and Lilly McCarty .

The family will receive friends Monday, September 16, 2013 at Thos. Shepherd & Son from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Mud Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Kevin O'Brien officiating. The body will lie in repose at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.
