Lois Opal Boden, 86, of Crete passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 in Lincoln.

She was born October 19, 1921 in Crete to George and Elizabeth (Wielage) Wells. She attended country grade school near Crete as well as Crete High School. She was confirmed in 1936. Lois married Ben Boden on September 13, 1940 in Clay Center, Kansas. She helped on the farm as well as gardening. She worked at Formfit Rodgers for a number of years.

She enjoyed gardening, being a homemaker, going on trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii, and dancing.

Lois was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church where she served as Deaconess two times and was a member of Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Emmy Boden of Crete; grandchildren, Roxanne and Steve Burns, Guy and Brenda Boden, Scott and Michelle Boden; great-grandchildren, Crystal Kahle, Dustin Burns, Amber Watson, Chance Burns, Brandon, Brittany Brooke, Conner, Emily and Katie Boden; step-grandchildren, Scott and Michael Bruening, Tracey Crome; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Howard James (Jimmy); great-grandson, Charlie; husband, Ben; brothers, Harry and Harlan Wells; sisters, Alice Elmshauser and Marion Fahrnbruch.

Funeral services were held February 29 at Kuncl Funeral Home with the Rev. Einar Greenholt officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dustin Burns, Guy Boden, Scott Boden, and Steve Burns. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Boden, Ron Elmshauser, Jim Clark, and Jason Clark.
