Ulysses Grant Alexander, 76, of 545 South Moore street, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. Born September 15, 1868, in Sullivan county, Illinois, he had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 42 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ella; three stepsons, Norton Roberts and Rex Roberts, Ottumwa, and Leslie C. Roberts, Des Moines, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. John Welch and Mrs. Carl M. Higdon, both of Ottumwa. A niece, Mrs. L. C. Cavender of Columbus, Ind., also survives.
Funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 3:30 p.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. Lester Shields, pastor of the Church of God. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery
