Kathryn Irene Stroud Hopkins was born in West Point, MS and was a longtime resident of Grand Prairie, TX. She is survived by her 5 children. Veronica Dee "Vonie" Hopkins, Ronald Lynn "Ron" Hopkins, Gary Lane Hopkins, Elmer Dillard "Tex" Hopkins, and Kathryn "Kathy" Sue Hopkins Ellis. Katie was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star #219 Grand Prairie, Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce where she also served as president and was the Chamber of Commerce "Woman of the Year in 1989". She also served on the Miss Grand Prairie Scholarship Pageant, Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, and a member of the Soroptimist International of Grand Prairie. She was a member of First Baptist Church Grand Prairie.
