Lucy Turner, 96, of Battle Creek, Michigan died September 9, 2013. Lucy was born November 29, 1916 in Canton, North Carolina. She married Clarence (Champ) Turner October 12, 1940. Clarence preceded her in death in 1976. Many will remember Lucy and her twin sister, Ruth Andres, who passed away last year, for their many years working in local women's retail stores. Lucy was a 63 year member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Business Women's Association, Christian Singles, and a volunteer at the Charitable Union and hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are children, Lavern Turner (Kellie), New Mexico; Joyce Labine, Kansas; Sam (Marty) Turner of Battle Creek ; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren ; one great-great granddaughter; sister Betty Aides, Florida and a bother Boyd Medford of North Carolina. A special appreciation to the caregivers at Countryside AFC for the loving care Lucy received over the past 4 years. A graveside service officiated by Rev. Dr. Bill Lang, was held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in Lucy's memory can be made to a favorite charity. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. www.henryfuneralhome.org
