ALTA J. McCAIN - Alta Jane McCain, 76, Ottawa, died Wednesday, April 27, 1994 at Anderson County Hospital - Long Term Care, Garnett. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ruhamah Cemetery near Rantoul. Born March 15, 1918 at Peoria in Franklin County, she was the daughter of William and Cora (Goodwin) Lacy. She married John Raymond McDaniel. They later were divorced. She married Lonnie McCain Sept. 29, 1952 at Bentonville, Ark. He died Feb. 8, 1985. She grew up in the Ottawa area and attended Ottawa public schools. She lived in Garnett for many years before relocating back to the Ottawa area in 1979. She was a waitress and homemaker for all of her life. She worked as a waitress and cook at the Hill House Restaurant at Ottawa for many years. She attended the Community Foursquare Church at Ottawa. Survivors include a son, John Raymond McDaniel Jr., Belle Vista, Ark.; a daughter, Gloria Ann Schulz, Ottawa; 10 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, the infant Cora Roberta McDaniel and Juanita J. Schulz on April 7, 1992; three brothers, seven sisters and a great-grandson, Michael Ray McDaniel. Friends may call until the service hour at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight.
