Brian Lane Pritchard, 25, of West Des Moines, and formerly of Center Point, died February 8, 2011, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a long battle with cancer. Celebration of Life Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Stacey; parents, Craig and Angela Pritchard of Center Point; sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and Rick Gallo of Cedar Rapids; aunt and uncle, Rose and Craig Russell of Gladbrook; cousins, Aaron and Mandy Russell and two children Ella and Ethan of Johnston and Emily and Nathan Slife of Las Vegas, Nevada; in-laws, Roy and Sandy Harter of Cedar Rapids; two sisters in-law, Rachael Harter of San Diego, California, and Allison Harter of West Des Moines; as well as many close friends and cousins.

Brian was born March 4, 1985, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Craig and Angela Pritchard. He graduated from Center Point High School in 2003, and then attended the University of Northern Iowa where he received his B.A. in history education in 2008.

While at the University of Northern Iowa, Brian met his wife Stacey (Harter) Pritchard and the couple wed on May 31, 2008. The couple resided in West Des Moines, Iowa, where Brian served as a Loan Officer for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage while Stacey completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Des Moines University.

Brian will be forever remembered for his life motto "Just Try And Ruin My Day." He lived by this saying and enjoyed life to the fullest. Brian enjoyed the company of family and friends and was passionate when following his beloved Hawkeyes and Cubs.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Brian's honor.

The family would appreciate written letters to Brian of their remembrances of him.
