June Patterson, 77, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, in Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 10, 1936, in Shawneetown to Wilford A. and Elsie (Waldrop) Peters.

Survivors include her daughter, Darla Dawson of West Frankfort; one son, David Patterson of Milwaukee; a granddaughter, Hannah Dawson; one brother, Alfred (Alice) Peters of Edinburg, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendell and Bobby Piper; and by two sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell and Wanda McElyea Nelson.

She was a nurse at Franklin Hospital in Benton for many years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in Brady Cemetery in Akin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort.

Memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation or West Frankfort Public Library and will be accepted at the funeral home.
