Jean Hubby, 85, formerly of the Regency in Boone passed away at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone on Friday morning, July 26, 2013.
She was born on September 6, 1927 in Scranton, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Okla (Hammer) Ellsworth.
On January 15, 1947, she married Donald Hubby at the Central Christian Church parsonage in Boone.
Jean was a graduate of Boone High School. She was the secretary for many years at Mid State Steel in Boone which her husband, Don, owned and managed for a number of years. Jean enjoyed bowling, oil painting, and visiting with her Regency coffee group each day.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church and the ABWA.
Her parents; husband Don in November of 1999; son Ron in March of 2000; sister Cornelia Jordan; and brother Claude Ellsworth preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son Roger Hubby and wife Rose of Boone; a daughter Claudia Ferry of Boone; grandchildren Greg Hubby and wife Eleasha, Ann Anderson and husband David, Angie Meyer and husband Mike, Jolie Larson and husband Jeremy, Crista Ryan and husband Scott, Jelanie Hubby, Carly Hubby and TJ Clemons, Meagan Schaaf and husband Dan; great-grandchildren Gage, Grace, Wyatt and Morgan Hubby, Rand and Rowan Anderson, Ian and Jaden Meyer, Harper and Gacia Larson, Sam and Peter Ryan, Clair Clemons, Andrew and Charlotte Schaaf; nieces; nephews; long time friend Leola Strain; and friends at Regency.
Services will be held on Tuesday morning, July 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Christian Church in Boone with Rev. Gary Sneller officiating.
Following the service, her body will be cremated with interment in Bass Point Cemetery north of Boone to be held at a later date.
